Mix consists of broadcasting music by stringing together music tracks with similar rhythms one after the other, overlapping the end of one song with the beginning of another and thus creating a continuity in the diffusion. A listening job precedes the musical selection, after which the material used by the Dj allows him to change the speed of the songs he has selected to allow him to "mix".
If the art of Mix or DJing is to "play the discs" one after the other, Dj from Hip Hop Culture uses turntables as a musical instrument in its own right to "play WITH discs". The "pass-pass", the "beat-juggling" (juggling between two identical discs / songs, creating new rhythms and restructuring of the initial song live), and the "scratch" are notably the techniques that distinguish the mix of a Dj Hip Hop from other Djs.
